Urgent ‘do not eat’ alerts for Lidl and Morrisons shoppers

Lidl GB is recalling Fin Carré White Chocolate as it could be “unsafe to eat”, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned.

All Lidl GB retail stores that sell the product will display point-of-sale notices explaining why Fin Carré White Chocolate needs to be recalled.

The customer notice cautioned there is a “potential presence of foreign bodies (plastic), which may present a choking hazard”.

Customers are strongly advised “not to eat it” and to “return this produce to the nearest store”.

All customers who return Fin Carré White Chocolate will be given a full refund.

Morrisons has also put out a notice to recall Free From Gluten Choco Crackles due to undeclared allergens.

The FSA noted Morrisons Free From Gluten Choco Crackles contains:

  • Hazelnuts (nuts)
  • Milk
  • Gluten-free oats.

These ingredients were not put on the label, which means the product is now a possible health risk for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to them.

For instance, anybody who has an allergy to nuts could have a bad reaction to eating Free From Gluten Choco Crackles.

The chocolate cereal presents a risk for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to hazelnut, milk, and oats.

Morrisons said: “Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

The best-before date on the packaging of Morrisons Free From Gluten Choco Crackles is September 18, 2024.
