Shrimp paste is salty in flavour and has a strong preserved shrimp smell.Its a seasoning used in cooking vege,chicken and meat. We use Lee Kum Kee brand for steaming with pork belly and this dish is savoury, salty and sweet, goes well with white rice. It is one of my favorite dish and everytime I have this must add more rice!
Ingredients
- slices Pork Belly / Jowl
- Marinate ingredients A
- 1 tbsp shrimp paste
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/4 sesame oil
- 1 tsp plum sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp water
- Ingredients B
- Ginger cut thin
- Red chilli chopped
- Spring onion chopped
Steps
Marinate pork meat with ingredients A for minimum 30 minutes.
Place marinated meat in steaming plate. Place ginger and red chilli on top. Steam for 18 minutes in high heat. Garnish with spring onion and serve.
