Smoked Turkey Leg with Chickpeas

These Turkey legs are fall off the bone delicious and take about 3 minutes to prepare. So easy and worth the slow cooked time!


  1. 2 smoked Turkey legs
  2. Foil
  3. Crockpot
  4. For the peas
  5. 1 pd dried chickpeas
  6. 2 tsp cumin
  7. 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  8. to taste Salt
  9. to taste Pepper
  10. 2 bay leaves
  11. 1/2 c condensed milk


  1. Wrap Turkey legs tightly in foil. Place in slow cooker for 8 hours on low. Do not put any liquid in slow cooker.

  2. Soak chickpeas overnight, drain. add 8 cups of water and all your ingredients except milk.

  3. Bring to boil then simmer with lid slightly open for 1 1/2 hours. Then add 1/2 cup evaporated milk and cook another 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  4. At the very end, mash 1/3 of chickpeas.
