Red Wine Beef Stew

Delicious dish to warm you up in the cool weather. ?


  1. 3 lbs Beef Chuck cubed
  2. 3 shallots or yellow onion chopped
  3. 4 cloves garlic chopped
  4. 2 stalks celery diced
  5. 4 large russet potatoes peeled,rinsed and cubed
  6. 1,5 cups Pinot Noir, or Italian Chianti
  7. 2 cups Beef broth or, chicken stock or water
  8. 2 large carrots sliced
  9. 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  10. 1 Tblsp spoon salt
  11. 2 tblsp ground black pepper
  12. 3 tblspoon olive oil
  13. 1 Tblsp tomato paste


  1. Heat up a skillet add Olive oil in the mean time take beef and dust with flour just coated add to heated skillet brown meat on all sides then take out of pan and set a side on a plate

  2. Add shallots, salt and pepper, tomato paste saute for a minute add garlic and red wine, broth bring to simmer.

  3. Put potatoes carrots, thyme, celery and beef in a slow cooker add broth mixture cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours place in a bowl add parsley enjoy?
