Pasta with chicken and broccoli

My uncle used to make it a lot when I was little for my cousins and I, and now I make it 1-2 times a week.


  1. 1 lb chicken breasts
  2. 3 crowns of broccoli
  3. 3-4 bags Cavatelli
  4. Pinch salt
  5. 1/4 sugar
  6. Oil
  7. 1 c Parmesan cheese
  8. Sprinkle garlic powder
  9. 1 stick butter
  10. 1 tsp garlic
  11. 1/2 c water


  1. Heat oil in a pan or grill over medium to high heat

  2. Clean chicken (if desired) and place in a clean plate

  3. Season chicken with with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Repeat on opposite side

  4. Place chicken in oil and grill for about 5 minutes on each side. Check each side after 2.5 minutes

  5. In a small to medium sauce pan heat oil on medium high heat. Place garlic in oil

  6. Cut broccoli crowns and place the florets in a bowl

  7. Rinse the florets and drain the remaining water

  8. Place broccoli in oil with the garlic

  9. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder and sugar. Mix all together

  10. Place the cooked chicken in a plate and cut into small pieces

  11. Place cut chicken into a bowl and cover

  12. Add water to broccoli and simmer for 5 minutes. Stick a knife into the stem to check for readiness (if done the stem should be soft)

  13. In a large sauce pan fill with water and bring to a boil

  14. Add a pinch of salt to the water and add pasta to boiling water. Mix immediately

  15. Drain the broccoli from the oil and water and place in bowl with the chicken

  16. In a large serving bowl coat the bottom with Parmesan cheese

  17. Heat up chicken and broccoli in the pan you cooked the chicken in

  18. Drain pasta and add to large serving bowl

  19. Add in the chicken, broccoli, butter, salt, oil, pepper and Parmesan cheese.

  20. Serve while hot and enjoy!
