Papaya candy from Zimbabwe

Ingredients

  1. 1 papaya
  2. 2 cups sugar
  3. Grated lemon peel
  4. 1/2 teaspoon mint

Steps

  1. Wash and peel the papaya

  2. Slice papaya into strips

  3. Place all of your ingredients over low heat until sugar dissolves

  4. Cook for 10 minutes and put aside for a half hour

  5. Reheat over medium heat until your ingredients crystallize

  6. Remove from heat

  7. Using a fork and spoon, shape mixture into ball shapes

  8. Enjoy!
