Khandvi

Khandvi is a savory snack in Gujarati Cuisine ,this is one of their main dish they have like snack or served as breakfast. I have eaten this from a Gujarati family who sell their delicacy in a cart from morning till night and it’s always crowded. That’s how i started eating this and Samosas oh it’s so tasty . Today i somehow thought of making this and gave it a try .This is made of Gram flour and few spices .

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 Cup besan or gram flour
  2. 1/2 Cup Butter milk or thick yogurt
  3. to taste salt
  4. Ginger and green chillies crushed
  5. 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  6. Seasoning or Garnish
  7. 2 tbsp Oil
  8. Mustard seed
  9. leaves Curry
  10. 3 green chillies Slit
  11. Pinch hing

Steps

  1. In a bowl add gram flour,butter milk and whisk it well.Then add turmeric,salt,ginger and chilli paste and mix well no lumps.

  2. Pour the mixture in a pan and pressure cook for three whistle or cook in low flame continuously stirring till its thick and good consistency to spread.

  3. When hot add the Mixture in a flat surface or plate applying oil and immediately spread completely and let it cook down.

  4. Now cut them straight and roll tight and keep it in plate. In a pan add oil once hot add mustard seed,curry leaves,hing and green chillies.

  5. Pour the oil all over the khandvi and let it soak for while before serving ?
