Omurice is a popular contemporary Japanese fusion creation of Western omelette and Japanese ketchup chicken rice. It is usually cooked at home but also can be found at many Western restaurants in Japan. This is also one of the most popular dish among children. I made the fried rice into a bear shaped which is sleeping in omelette futon. How about cooking this and surprise your children, partner or friends?♥
Ingredients
- Fried chicken rice
- 1/4 Onion
- 50 g Chicken breast
- 1/4 teaspoon Chicken stock powder
- To taste Salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoon Ketchup
- 1 cup Japanese white rice(150g)
- 1 teaspoon Soysauce
- Omelet
- Some Butter
- Some Salad oil
- 2 Eggs
- To taste Salt and pepper
- Bear's face
- Some Sliced cheese
- Some Japanese seaweed(Nori)
- Salad
- Some Petit tomatoes
- Some Lettuce
Steps
<Fried chicken rice> Chop onion in small pieces, heat a bit of salad oil in frying pan and fry well. Add chicken and cook until the color turns to white.
Add ketchup and chicken stock powder.
Pour rice and stir fry together. Add salt, pepper and soy sauce to your taste.
Divide the rice into 4:4:1:1(When total is 10). Round the 2 big portion of rice into balls for bear’s head and body. Round the 2 small portion of rice into balls for ears as well. Place nicely on a plate.
<Omelet> Apply butter and salad oil to a frying pan and spread evenly by using a kitchen paper.
Beat the eggs. Add salt and pepper.
Pour the egg into the frying pan. Mix with a spatular for few times and gather the egg to make a futon shape. Before it changes brown, turn over the egg and cook only for few minutes. Arrange the omelet on a plate as if the bear is wearing a futon.
Use scissors to cut a sliced cheese into a small round for bear nose. For other face parts, use seaweed.
Decorate the plate with tomatoes and lettuces. Enjoy!
