Fried chicken typically conjures up images of something Southern but this one is different!
Marinated in Carne Asada marinade and breaded with Bulgur #1 grind, the smallest ones.
This doesn’t look like I envisioned do it’s still a WIP, work in progress…
Thank you.
Ingredients
- Chicken
- Carne Asada Marinade
- 1 beaten egg
- Bulgur, #1 preferred but whatever you can get if no choice
- Oil to fry
Steps
Marinade is here: https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/7637334-carne-asada-marinade
Chicken in the bag and in the refrigerator to marinate. I went with at least 4 hours. Overnight works too, more citrus!
Beaten egg and the Bulger. The jalapeno is for a size reference. The #1 Bulgur is like large grits, but it’s wheat.
After 4 hours. Note the coloring versus when they first went in the bag. I’m going to let these dry a bit so the egg sticks and they can warm up a bit. I take the egg out of the ‘frig now too.
Dipped and breaded with the Bulgur.
There’s that drying thing again so the breading doesn’t come off in the fryer. 30 minutes or so under the fan.
Alright, getting this to stick is still a WIP, work in progress… Gonna have to read up on this, or call it crackers… ?
