Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  1. 2 lb / 1kg Granny Smith Apples – FILLING
  2. 1 tbsp white flour – FILLING
  3. 1/2 cup white sugar – FILLING
  4. 2 tbsp lemon juice – FILLING
  5. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon – FILLING
  6. 1 cup rolled oats / oatmeal – TOPPING
  7. 1 cup white flour – TOPPING
  8. 1 cup brown sugar – TOPPING
  9. 1/2 tsp baking powder – TOPPING
  10. 1 tsp cinnamon – TOPPING
  11. 125 g / 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted – TOPPING
  12. Pinch salt – TOPPING

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F / 180C

  2. Peel the apples and cut them in to cubes

  3. Mix the apples with flour (1tbsp) white sugar and cinnamon 1/2tsp then pour over the lemon juice. Spread them evenly in to a 1.5 L baking dish.

  4. Put the toppings in a bowl and mix until clumps form (You can also add some nuts in there). It should turn in to like wet sand. Spread over the apples by hand and crumble over.

  5. Bake for 30 – 40min or until golden brown and let sit for 10 min

  6. Serve with vanilla ice cream
