All American Cheeseburger

It’s the 4th of July, which here, in the United States, is our Independence Day! We celebrate with bbq and fireworks. This is a bare bones cheeseburger and can be dolled up with anything you like. We go with tomato, onions, pickle, lettuce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, bacon and anything else you can think of. Personally I’m a purest, and LOVE a good juicy burger with cheese and a toasted bun.


  1. 80/20 ground beef
  2. Cheese, I always use american
  3. Salt and pepper
  4. Hamburger buns


  1. Patty out your burger as thin as you can get it. Add salt and pepper and place on a hot skillet or grill. Press down on raw patty for a bit to get a nice sear and crisp on the edges. Don’t flip or move for a few minutes. Flip over and do the same. Add cheese when it’s to desired doneness.

  2. Spray the inside of your buns with non stick spray and toast only the inside of bun for a minute or two in the skillet or on the grill.
