Speaking to, Lottie Maddox, Head of Fitness at BLOK explained that those who want to lose weight should challenge their body.

The expert said: “When it comes to weight loss it’s important to challenge your body in unexpected ways.

“Here at BLOK we recommend that you follow a Cross Discipline Training programme, whereby you are constantly challenging your body to try new exercises and to move in unexpected ways.”

As well as high intensity workouts, further weight loss can be expected with strength training.

Lottie added: “Balancing your training programme with both strength training, to build muscle and regulate your metabolism and fat burning exercises such as HIIT and boxing is the most effective way you can increase your overall health.”

According to Healthline, boxing can help to burn on average around 350 to 450 calories per hour, making it a great addition to a weight loss plan.

The website explained: “Since it takes 3,500 calories to lose one pound, you need to burn an additional 500 to 1,000 calories a day through diet and exercise to lose the recommended one to two pounds each week.”

Boxing equipment can be purchased online and can be picked up quite cheaply.

The expert went on: “If you are looking for a particular exercise that is going to help you lose weight, you should find an exercise or routine that you enjoy the most, rather than focusing on one exercise that you hope will help.

“If you find a class or routine that you enjoy, this will allow you to workout consistently which is key for weight loss.

“Find something you love and stick with it!”

Weight loss results don’t happen overnight and they often require commitment and determination to see.

This is why working out consistently and staying motivated is key for a healthy weight loss.

Lottie also explained that Pilates is a great option for someone wanting to lose weight.

According to Healthline, practising Pilates can help tone up, build lean muscle and even improve posture.

The website said: “If you enjoy Pilates cases you may be more likely to stick to your fitness routine by taking these classes regularly.

“You’ll also be more likely to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

Lottie added: “I always recommend Pilates as a great class if you are new to exercise and are looking to lose weight.

“The BLOKtv Pilates class for beginners is a great way for you to understand your body and introduce you to good technique, which in turn will benefit you when you try out other forms of exercise.”
