Blackberry breakfast smoothie

  • Serves:2 (makes 600ml)


    2 medium bananas, sliced
    400ml almond milk
    2 tsp chia seeds
    1 heaped tbsp porridge oats
    150g blackberries
    4 ice cubes
    ½ tsp vanilla extract
    1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)


    1. At least 2 hours ahead, or preferably the night before, put the sliced bananas in a plastic food bag, seal and freeze. When frozen, put the almond milk in an upright blender and stir in the chia seeds and oats. Leave to swell for 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, including the banana, and whizz for 60 seconds, until smooth and thick. Divide between 2 glasses and drink straightaway.
