Meghan Markle and Harry ‘charting their own territory’ says expert

Meghan Markle gave birth to her and Prince Harry’s second child, Lilibet, three months ago. Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in New York for the first public appearance since they became a family of four, and Meghan oozed confidence while showcasing a variety of outfits. But, in a previous appearance and when they were still senior working royals, it was revealed Meghan had similar insecurities about her body like many new mothers. But it seems, with reassurance from Harry as well as maintaining a healthy diet and fitness regime, Meghan is left glowing.
Back in 2019 after giving birth to Archie a few months prior, when attending an event to meet 10-year-old Emmie Narayn-Nicholas (who won an award for her idea Emmie’s Kitchen), Prince Harry and Meghan commented on how much they loved the idea of her kitchen.
Eve went on to tell reporters: “They were very lovely.
“When Meghan sat down, I said, ‘Oh you look amazing and you’ve just had a baby’.
“Harry looked at her and went, ‘See I told you!’ in a way that we would… It did feel like they were very down to earth.”
It is no secret the Duchess is a fan of yoga having shared several posts and photos on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig.
But what other forms of exercise has Meghan favoured?
Invests in herself
While her exact diet and fitness regime is not known, the royal has shared some details of her lifestyle in the past.
During a previous interview with Women’s Health, Meghan said: “I give myself the luxury of downtime.
“We are all so incredibly busy and juggling so many things but I always take an hour to just decompress, watch mindless TV, snuggle with my dogs and enjoy a glass of wine.
“That’s all part of the investment. It’s a balance,” she added.
“My health, my state of mind, the feeling you have after a workout; all of these things drive me to step onto my mat or go to the gym,” the royal explained.
“Sometimes the idea of working out sounds absolutely dreadful, but I always remind myself of how good it will feel afterwards. Euphoric, almost.”
Embraces unique features
Meghan also encourages people to embrace their uniqueness, for a healthy mind and approach to body confidence.
She said: “When I look in the mirror I see my freckles. And I love them.”
Yoga, pilates, home workouts, meditates
“My mom was a yoga instructor so that practice is in my blood,” Meghan revealed. “I love an intense vinyasa class – and even better if its blasting hip-hop and done in a dark room with candlelight. The best.”
Meghan is also a fan of home workouts which she “does all on my own”.
Shape published: “I do DVDs at home or I go for a run by myself. I think if you can self-motivate, that’s half the battle.”
She also likes to run and it’s her “form of moving meditation”.
“It allows me to get out of my head,” Meghan explained.
She also revealed she worked out with personal trainer Craig McNamee when filming Suits in Toronto.
Speaking of Megaformer Pilates, which uses a machine that focuses on full-body fat burning and conditioning, the Duchess said: “[It’s] hands down the best thing you could do for your body.”
“Your body changes immediately…give it two classes and you will see a difference.”
As for what Meghan eats, she has been known to follow a very healthy diet.
She told Best Health in an interview: “I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.
“But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived.
“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”
Meghan has been known to eat a vanilla shake blended with blueberries for breakfast.
She might have a Niçoise salad and glass of rosé, with some Grey Owl goat cheese and baguette on the side for lunch, and a leisurely dinner of seafood and pasta.
And The New Potato said she finished off the night with a negroni.
