Weight loss diet plan: How this man lost 7.5 stone revealed
The happy man revealed how he made the change and achieve the transformation, posting before and after pictures.
He followed the keto diet, or ketogenic diet, to shed the pounds.
The 32-year-old internet user said: “Hit rock bottom 10 months ago and have been clawing my way out!”
Sweetly, he credited his “great spouse” for his weight loss, along with the new diet and doing cardio exercise everyday.
The man shrank down from 23.4 stone to a much slimmer 15.9 stone.
So what is the keto diet?
The keto diet, also known at the ketogenic diet, is a low-carb high-fat diet plan. Dieters may only eat low carb foods, such as lean meat and dairy.
The idea of the diet is to put the body into a state of ketosis.
This is an alternative metabolic rate in which the body burns fat instead of carbohydrates to survive.
The Reddit user revealed exactly what he ate to follow this plan.
He told interested internet users: “My daily targets are 23g net carbs and less than 1800 calories.”
He also revealed the exercise he has been using to shed the weight.
“I do between 30-60 minutes of elliptical/jogging 5-6 days a week and over the last two months have been adding some weight training,” he wrote.
However, a nutritionist as cautioned against the keto diet plan long term.
Hebe Mills, who is an Associate Nutritionist, told Express.co.uk: “In recent years, the diet has had much attention in the media for it’s alleged weight loss benefits.
“The question is, does it work? Like many diets, an accompanying reduction in calorie intake may well lead to weight loss. That said, the diet is highly restrictive and shouldn’t be used long term.
”If you’re looking to try the Keto diet, seek advice from a registered Dietician or Nutritionist before you start. Try to ensure that you are consuming a wide variety of the ‘allowed foods’ on the diet, otherwise you may be at risk of nutritional deficiency.”
