Kevin Clifton diet: How Strictly Come Dancing professional got in shape following divorce

Strictly Come Dancing fans will recognise Kevin Clifton from the BBC One Dance Show, which he joined in 2013. He won the sixteenth series of the show last year with his celebrity partner Stacey Dooley, whom he’s now dating. Their relationship comes after he split from his wife Karen, also a professional dancer on the show. Following the marriage break up, Kevin decided to make a major change his life, which led to his impressive weight loss.

So what did he do?

The 36-year-old revealed that he’d managed to slim down by cutting one thing from his diet.

Responding to a follower on Twitter who asked: “My mum was wondering, have you lost weight since last year? Cos she says you’re looking very trim,” he wrote: “Bless her. I actually quit alcohol. Haven’t had a drink in five months. Could be that.”

Fans were quick to respond to Kevin’s post with many praising him on the achievement.

“Outstanding work. I’m not quite ready to ditch it altogether but 100 per cent on board with all the reasons for doing so (chiefly mental health,” one wrote.

“Awww well done you. I bet you feel better for it! Mind you, you always look great and very fit!” another said.

“Well done Kevin! Wish I had your willpower but I enjoy a glass of wine watching Strictly.”

The Good Morning Britain presenter recently lost an incredible 1st 7lbs after deciding to go teetotal.

Speaking in a recent interview with Prima Magazine, she said: “I’ve lost a stone-and-a-half and I feel fantastic.”

Discussing her decision to lose weight, she said: “This time last year, I went to the doctor with a skin problem and he told me I could do with losing some weight.

“It turned out I was at the upper end of my BMI and, I have to admit, I’d been feeling a little heavy for a while.”
