How to burn fat, especially belly fat, is one of the most asked diet and weight loss questions. Lilly Sabri, founder of Lean with Lilly, claimed it “really, really simple”.
“The science is literally as simple as calories in, calories, out which sounds really boring and really kind of over basic but it really is that simple.
“That is how you are going to lose weight, burn fat, or however you want to put it,” Lilly explained.
Calories are units of energy included in food. The body uses calories to fuel itself.
The former physiotherapist and fitness influencer, who recently gave Express.co.uk her 360 guide to burning belly fat, went on: “How are you going to overall lose weight, on a scale? It’s going to be by being in a calorie deficit.
“That means, basically, how many calories are you taking in, versus how many calories you’re burning. It’s really, really simple.”
Lilly said it is impossible to burn fat in a specific area of your body.
She said: “But if you’re looking to target certain muscle groups, different and you can do both at the same time.
“You can train to burn calories because any movement, walking your dog, is going to bang calories.
“If you’re looking to target and build and sculpt certain muscles you can find them at the same time.
“Where it gets a bit difficult is people say, they want to burn fat on their chin.

“It’s a stupid example but a rather realistic one because you can’t burn fat on your chin is not going to happen, you can’t spot reduce.
“You’re going to lose fat and lose it all over, and everyone will lose it in different places.
“However we can train those areas to build muscle.”
Lilly also recently discussed her typical daily diet plan.
She explains that her typical breakfast typically involves eggs.
The fitness expert said: “I’ll normally use a rye bread toast or sourdough bread.
“I don’t typically use white bread, I don’t actually like it as much. I prefer wholemeal.
“I have that toasted normally with scrambled eggs on the side and then I put my Superfood Booster on top because I like some flavour and some garlic in there. So that’ll be my breakfast.”
From one diet breakfast to another, Dr Michael Mosley recommended a weight loss breakfast.
He advocated eating high protein food at breakfast.
The health expert said: “One of the main reasons for opting for a low carb, high protein breakfast is that you won’t then get famished in the middle of the morning and feel tempted to tuck into a pastry.”
However, he recommended one specific food to include in your morning meal: fish.
