Emmerdale viewers will be keen to tune in to see if the beloved character is truely dead. Claire, an English actress, has played Kim Tate on and off, first joining the osap in December 1989 and leaving in 1999.

She returned for a short period of time in October 2018 and returned permemnantly in March 2019.

The actor has brought joy to viewers for man years.

She has also managed to shed 10lbs in recent years.

Claire made a change to her diet plan to enjoy a lasting lighter frame.

The actor has been vocal about the method she used for her weight loss.

She turned to healthier living in 2005. She told The Mirror she cut out wheat, dairy and red meat six days a week.

Claire said: “[My trainer] usually devises vegetarian diets but I pleaded with her to include some meat, so she let me add chicken.”

During the diet Claire started the day with water and lemon and a small portion of grapes.

She also made sure to drink two litres of water a day.

Claire has also credited her weight loss to intermittent fasting, a popular method to shed excess weight, which is gaining popularity.

Closer magazine reported the star used the 5:2 diet, a type of intermittent fasting.

It sees slimmers eat only 500 calories for two days of the week, and eating in moderation the rest of the time.

Experts at explained: “The 5:2 diet involves eating normally for five days per week, then restricting your calorie intake to 500 to 600 calories on the other two days.”

By following this diet plan, Claire lost an impressive 10lb, or 0.7 stone.

Intermittent fasting has been claimed by expert to help increase the metabolism.

This means the body burns through energy and excess stores of it, held as fat, more quickly.

Another method to help burn fat is eating more protein, according to TV dietitian Dr Michael Mosley. 

He said: “It’s really important to have a decent amount of protein, which is 50 to 70 grams a day.

“You can mainly get protein from meat or from fish, and you can also get it from legumes, but you have to eat rather more.”

High protein foods can also help curb the appetite and keep dieters fuller for longer.

Dr Mosley added: “When you consume it, it’s digested slower by your body so you don’t get the same sort of peaks.”
