Adele’s impressive weight loss has been the subject of headlines since the singer showed her incredible transformation on social media.

Adele’s former personal trainer, Pete Geracimo, revealed weight loss wasn’t the reason why she started her journey, but to get back into exercise after having children and to improve her overall health.

“When Adele and I started our journey together, it was never about getting super skinny.

“It was about getting her healthy. Especially post pregnancy and post surgery.

“When 25 dropped and the tour announced, we had to get ready for a 13 month gruelling schedule. In that time, she warmed to training and made better food choices.

“As a result, she lost considerable weight and people took notice,” Pete explained in an Instagram post.

Adele spoke about her reasons and explained why she didn’t “share her journey” saying: “I did it for myself and not anyone else. So why would I ever share it? I don’t find it fascinating. It’s my body.

“People have been talking about my body for 12 years.

“They used to talk about it before I lost weight. But yeah, whatever, I don’t care.

“You don’t need to be overweight to be body positive, you can be any shape or size,” she told British Vogue.

Adele credited mostly her workout routine for her transformation but her goal was never to lose weight with it.

“It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better.

“It never about losing weight, it was always about becoming stronger and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it.”

Over the past two years, she revealed she followed a fitness routine consisting in working out three times a day.

Her exercise routine would start with weights in the morning, a hike or boxing in the afternoon and a session of cardio in the evening.

What diet did Adele follow to lose seven stone?

Many people speculated that she had been on the Sirtfood Diet as she revealed she had cut out caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, and all “spicy, citrusy, and tangy” foods for a time.

The Sirtfood diet focuses on eating nutritious food and juices.

Launched in 2016, the diet plan involves slimmers eating a diet rich in sirtfoods.

According to the diet’s founders, Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten, these foods work by activating certain proteins in the body called sirtuins, which help the body burn fat and suppress appetite, aiding weight loss.

Common foods eaten on the diet include citrus fruits, kale, blueberries and buckwheat noodles.

Her former personal trainer Camila Goodis said: “The first week is intense, green juices and only 1,000 calories. She doesn’t look too thin – she looks amazing.”
