    DIRECTIONS

  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat.Saute onion until golden,Add the potatoes and saute until potatoes are covered with butter or margarine. If you want to add bacon, add it at this step.
  • Add salt and pepper ( and/or other herbs you would like.)Add milkand bring to a simmer.Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • While the potatoes are cooking, put the corn in a colander and run under warm water to take off any ice crystals.Let stand.
  • After potatoes are cooked through, add the corn and return to simmer.Serve.Top with cheese, if desired.
