READY IN: 18minsYIELD: 24 cookies

  • 1cupsalted butter, softened
  • 1cupgranulated sugar (I used half the sugar it called for, and they were plenty sweet)
  • 1cuplight brown sugar, packed
  • 2teaspoonspure vanilla extract
  • 2largeeggs
  • 3cupsall-purpose flour
  • 1teaspoonbaking soda
  • 12 teaspoonbaking powder
  • 1teaspoonsea salt (I omitted when I made, plenty of salt in the butter)
  • 2cupschocolate chips, chocolate chunks(I doubled the amount of chocolate when I made) or 2 cups chopped chocolate (I doubled the amount of chocolate when I made)

  • Preheat oven to 375.Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.(I found lining the pans with anything completely unnecessary–these are buttery and don’t stick to the pan whatsoever.).
  • In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.Set aside.
  • Cream together butter and sugars until combined.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
  • Mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
  • Add 12 oz package of chocolate chips and mix well.
  • Roll 2 to 3 tablespoons of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on cookie sheets.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes.Take them out when they are just barely starting to turn brown.
  • Let them sit on the baking pan for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
