Food recalls can be issued when a problem is found with a product. Here are the latest updates for Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

SFC have recently recalled a number of batches of their chicken products sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

The manufacturers have now extended the warning as more batches are known to be affected.

The recall has been made as salmonella has been found in some of the packs listed below.

Salmonella can cause symptoms including sickness, abdominal cramps and fever.

Shoppers who have purchased the affected packs are asked not to consume them, but instead return to store for a refund.

A SFC statement said: “We are recalling specific batches of these products due to salmonella being found.

“Customers are advised not to eat this product and return to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.”

Alternatively, shoppers email a photo of the product packaging showing the batch code to [email protected]

A refund will then be processed by the supplier via letter.

Some SFC chicken items being recalled may have been sold in supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

A Sainsbury’s statement said: “We are asking customers who have purchased this product not to eat it and to return the item to their nearest Sainsbury’s store for a full refund when they next visit for groceries and other essentials.

“SFC Wholesale would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”

Tesco recently shared an update for batches sold by the supermarket giant.

A post on Tesco Twitter added: “As a precaution, the manufacturer of SFC Chicken is recalling their SFC Chicken Poppets 190g, with the batch codes PKW011A and PKW008A and the best before date of 28/02/22. This is due to the presence of salmonella in the product.”
