Tesco, Asda, Lidl and Morrisons share urgent food recalls amid health fears – full list

Supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl have asked customers to check for a number of recalled items. Food products have been recalled due to undeclared allergens and the possible presence of plastic and metal.

Tesco

Tesco Cottage Pie baby food

The baby food product has been recalled as some packs could contain small pieces of blue plastic.

A statement said: “We’ve been made aware that due to a manufacturing error, pots of Tesco Cottage Pie baby food 190g, with a best before date of 12/06/2022, may contain small pieces of blue plastic.”

Anyone who has bought the affected packs can return them to stores for a full refund.

Free From Toffee & Vanilla Cones

The retailer has an ongoing recall for some batches of its ice cream cones due to undeclared allergens.

“We are recalling packs of Tesco Free From Toffee & Vanilla Cones 4x110ml, with a best before end date of 07/2022,” a statement said.

“This is because they may contain milk, which is not declared on the packaging.”

Packs with the best before date of July 2022 and the batch code L10233L1 are known to be affected.

Asda

Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie

A warning has been shared as some batches contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This could cause a serious health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance.

A statement explained: “Asda is recalling all date codes of Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie (170g) because some packs may contain trace amounts of milk constituents which are not mentioned on the label.

“Milk is not declared on the packaging, so this means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”

All date codes are affected and the batches have the barcode 505717223369.

Morrisons

Morrisons Minestrone Soup

Shoppers will allergies are asked to return the soup as it contains bacon and celery not listed among the ingredients.

A statement explained: “Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.

“No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

Batches with the best before date of June 16, 2021 and in 600g packs have been affected.

Lidl GB

Reinert Teddy Bear Sausage Slices

Lidl issued a recall which only affects products sold in Northern Ireland stores.

Some batches could contain metal dust making them unsafe to eat.

Customers should look out for 115g packs and all best before dates are affected.

Those who have purchased the sausage slices can return them to stores for a full refund.
