McDonald’s has received the green light to open its drive thru locations in the UK, as the restaurant strives to reignite its business during the comprehensive nationwide lockdown. The news comes as the company prepares to open a selection of its locations for delivery.
When will the McDonald’s drive thru open?
Environment Secretary George Eustace said McDonald’s was “made for social distancing”, and he never specifically asked for them to close.
Speaking during the daily coronavirus update over the weekend, the minister said it was “quite possible” for them to operate safely during the pandemic.
The chain initially said it would shut all of its restaurants on March 15 as it became “increasingly difficult” to maintain safety standards.
