Food recalls are not often issued but something that should be taken seriously by consumers. Those who have been shopping in Lidl and Co-op recently are being urged to check their cupboards as some products contain ingredients not mentioned on the label. If you have bought the affected items, you will be able to get a full refund.

Co-op have issued a warning for the product as it contains barley which is not mentioned on the label.
The Food Standards Agency website stated: “Some of the labels may not mention barley.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley or gluten.”
The packs which are affected are all the ones with the best before date codes up to and including 6 November 2019 and in a pack of four.
Those who have bought the product are being urged not to eat the food to avoid a risk.
Instead, they can return it to the store it was bought where they will be given a full refund for the item.
Point of sale notices have also been displayed in stores to tell shoppers what they can do if they have the product.

Lidl Baresa Green Pesto Alla Genovese
The discount supermarket chain, Lidl, has also issued a warning to those with allergies.
The Food Standards Agency website said: “Lidl GB is recalling Baresa Green Pesto Alla Genovese 190g because it contains peanut which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.”

The error has occurred on the pack size 190 grams and with batch codes IIF103, IIF183 and IIF186.
The affected products also have the best before date of 16 June 2022.
Those who have been shopping in store should check the product and return it to the store for a full refund.
No other Lidl GB or Co-op products are known to be affected.
Recently, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Lidl and Waitrose issued urgent recalls amid safety fears.
Tesco recalled Tesco Takeaway Hot Indian Meal for 2 as it contained some ingredients which were not listed on the label.
Waitrose recalled Waitrose Sour Cream and Chive Mix are they contained wheat not mentioned on the packaging.
Those who have bought the items can return them to store where they will be given a full refund.
