Drumstick Ice Cream Cones Are Now a Cereal

Summer weather is pretty much here, which means ice cream season is in full swing. But unless you happen to own a personal Mr. Softee truck or are ok with getting weird looks at the combination Dunkin’ Donuts / Baskin-Robbins when you demand a scoop of Cherries Jubilee while everyone else is waiting for their pre-work coffee, you’re outta luck.

That is, until you get your hands on a box of Drumstick cereal. You heard that right: Nestlé’s famous chocolate-dipped and peanut-covered ice cream cone can now be a part of your “balanced” breakfast, thanks to a new product launch from General Mills. A “sweetened corn and wheat cereal” according to the box, this decadent breakfast treat is available in both Mint Chocolate and Classic Vanilla flavors.

The news of Drumstick cereal comes at a time when cereal collaborations are getting sweeter and stranger than ever. The past year has brought us cereals made to taste like Sour Patch Kids, chicken and waffles, and even marshmallow peeps. This technically isn’t the first time ice cream has made its way into the cereal aisle, either: General Mills partnered with Dippin’ Dots on two flavors in 2018, making it the ice cream breakfast of both the future and the past.

So far, this Drumstick cereal has been spotted at Walmart stores (where it'll be exclusively sold) in South Carolina and around Cincinnati. Thankfully, General Mills confirmed to Popsugar that it’ll be available nationwide in time for summer. So buy a box and fuel up, since this’ll definitely give you the energy you need to chase down that ice cream truck to consume more frozen sugar.
