This New Pastry Is Officially the Best Breakfast Item at Trader Joe’s

Whether it’s their cookie butter spread or frozen mac and cheese, Trader Joe’s has an impressive number of products with their own cult following. So it only makes sense that the company’s newest creation Cream Cheese Brioche Pastries would draw inspiration from an existing popular offerings. The new breakfast treat was born out of the widespread love for the grocery store’s Sliced French Brioche. The fluffy, egg-y, slightly-sweet bread was introduced to customers in 2016, and it’s been flying off store shelves ever since.

So if brioche is what the people want, brioche is what Trader Joe’s will give them. The new pastries are like a brioche-cheese Danish hybrid—the center indentation in the single-serve challah-like brioche buns are filled with sweetened, extra-smooth cream cheese for the ultimate breakfast treat. The pastries are sold in the freezer aisle in packs of two for $3, and all you have to do is defrost at room temperature or warm in the oven. Throw one in the oven when you first wake up, then enjoy a warm Danish as you head to work. Few things sound better.

Wondering what else you should pick up while you’re at TJ’s? We’ve come up with a list of the nine Trader Joe’s products to add to your shopping list this spring.
